Code of Conduct
This Code of Conduct outlines the standards of behavior expected of all individuals participating in Bible International programs.
Purpose
The purpose of this Code of Conduct is to foster environments that reflect Christian character, mutual respect, and responsible participation. All mentors, volunteers, staff, and participants are expected to conduct themselves in a manner consistent with the teachings of Scripture.
This Code is intended to supplement, not replace, applicable laws and regulations. In the event of a conflict between this Code and applicable law, legal requirements shall prevail.
Who This Applies To
- Mentors, facilitators, and volunteers
- Staff and leadership of Bible International
- Participants in Bible study programs
- Any individual engaging in Bible International–hosted activities or platforms
Expected Conduct
- Christ-centered behavior: Interactions should reflect humility, patience, kindness, and integrity.
- Respectful communication: Language and tone must remain respectful, even in disagreement.
- Honesty: Participants should engage truthfully and transparently.
- Appropriate boundaries: Personal, emotional, and relational boundaries must be respected.
- Constructive participation: Contributions should build up the learning community.
Prohibited Conduct
The following behaviors are not permitted within Bible International programs:
- Harassment, intimidation, or abusive behavior
- Discriminatory language or actions
- Sexually explicit or suggestive content
- Manipulative, coercive, or exploitative behavior
- Sharing of private or sensitive personal information without consent
- Disruption of study sessions or repeated disregard for guidelines
Online Conduct
Because Bible International operates in online environments, additional expectations apply:
- Use appropriate language and tone in all digital communication
- Do not attempt to move conversations to private or unmonitored channels without permission
- Respect moderators and facilitators
- Do not record sessions or share content without authorization
Mentor-Specific Expectations
Those serving as mentors carry additional responsibility and are expected to:
- Model Christlike character and leadership
- Maintain clear and appropriate boundaries with participants
- Follow safeguarding policies at all times
- Refer concerns or issues to appropriate leadership rather than handling them privately
Addressing Violations
Violations of this Code of Conduct may result in corrective action, including warnings, removal from a study, or restriction from participation.
Bible International reserves the right to take appropriate action to protect participants and uphold program integrity.
Commitment to Review
This Code of Conduct is reviewed periodically and updated as needed to reflect best practices, operational experience, and community needs.
